Their first CD (krop3rom, 'a9ff'), done when nn was still a single
person (alias =cw4t7abs, aka antiorp, integer, etc) is rather nice and
enjoyable. It was released in two limited runs, back in early 1998, the
2nd of which even includes a track by/with Hafler Trio. The best way of
describing it is as a mix of industrial and academic electronic music.
A quote from the now defunct EMusic-L (this list was one of those
'plagued' by the endless antiorp debate and disruption) is quite to the
point: "Imagine if The Prodigy had spent six months at IRCAM doing an
intensive residency with Pierre Boulez. Imagine if Kraftwerk were using
Kyma in 1972." Actually, from what I recall discussing with the guy, it
was mostly done on supercollider.
I should say that when nn was only =cw4t7abs his/her/its posts were much
more interesting and captivating. There was a clear purpose and
dedication to 'the cause' (whatever it was) which positively reflected
in the artistry. Long gone are the days of quoting Laibach texts and
Front 242 lyrics.
Cheers,
