q : japanese experimental music scene

could those of you who are familiar with the Japanese experimental music
scene kindly fill me in as to where [outside of Tokyo] are there cities that
have a thriving experimental music scene ?    I am hoping to go there next
year with the JET program, teaching english, and I'd like to know where I
should be looking to situate myself  [to the extent that I have a choice] !

anyone familiar with osaka in particular ?

any  words of advice would be appreciated .
