Microsound: Ambient Books ("The New Sentence") and Ambient Film
Check out Ron Silliman's Ketjak (1978) and Tjanting (1981)
Here's a quick description by Bob Perelman:
"..........is written in series of expanding paragraphs=20
where the sentences of one paragraph are repeated in order in subsequent =
paragraphs=20
with additional sentences inserted between them, recontextualizing them. =
As the paragraphs
double, the space between the reoccurrence of the sentences doubles and =
the context from=20
which they reemerge grows thicker."
"New sentences imply continuity and discontinuity simultaneously......"

Re: Ambient film...............my favorite is a German film called =
Tuvalu (1999) directed by Viet Helmer
It's a silent film with microsound. Boy meets girl love story. Minimal =
dialogue in a non-existent language......
characters communicate by calling out their names, emotions are conveyed =
in their voice tones (paralanguage). =20
The movie was shot in black and white and each scene is tinted =
differently (blue, sepia, etc).
Exceptional visuals punctuate the film:=20
a naked girl swimming underwater with her goldfish in the bathhouse was =
pure magic.
Check out google for further information on Ron Silliman and Viet =
Helmer.
Have a great weekend.
