I dont understand how this could be so dangerous.

Mailing lists suck if you are out looking for interesting new music.=20
It's not happening on a mailing list. I'll take a subscription to The=20
Wire any  day over the combined mailing lists I have been scanning for=20=

a while.

That said, I like announcement lists. And I usually look at the sites=20
of record companies I know have some kind of editorial/selection=20
criteria in place that matches mine. And mostly they have done proper=20
mastering of the recording etc.

I no longer bother with MP3:s or CDR:s  -- if the artist does not think=20=

its worth pressing a real CD (which is inexpensive enough) .. why=20
should anyone be willing to listen to and even pay for it? Most=20
self-releases could do with some critical discussion both on musical=20
matters and and technical - being your own critic is hard to do and=20
requires much knowledge and experience.
