a few more movies
a few movies that deal either or both with time and
sound that havent been mentioned:
this might be obvious, but...
Fellini's "8 1/2" (time is a strong element)
Peter Greenaway's "Prospero's Books" (the sound design
and soundtrack is beautiful, and the imagery is
amazing. ie. layered transparent frames- really a
moving painting...) also his "A Zoo A Zed and Two
Naughts" (sp?) with all the time elasped (or
accelerated) photography and themes of decay and
such...
Savenmaker's (sp?) "Faust" (time again a strong
element)
"The Sheltering Sky" (again time, but a gorgeous
soundtrack as well)
Jarmusch's "Stranger Than Paradise"
and (i forget the director) "Women In The Dunes"
are also both seeming to me to be relevant though im
not sure how to express why...
any more movie suggestions? im gonna take a list to
the local video store this weekend! :)

"Not to forget, I 'museumize' myself; so that then I pay myself a visit and find me again in all the relics, to hand down memories from one to the other, like a genealogical tree, as if it were morning!"
