live performance

hello

i would guess there are a lot of people on this list who have performed live 
at some point, and i assume the majority of these performances were 
laptop/powerbook orientated. my reason for emailing the list is to ask you 
to describe your hardware/software setup, the process of producing and 
processing sounds in a live performance context, and the sonic content of 
the performance in relation to your setup.
i was wondering, what percentage of the sounds were performed/improvised on 
the spot? what percentage of the sounds were simply triggered, or played on 
a minidisc/cd player? what sort of software do you use, and how is it 
configured? etc.etc.
ANY HELP WOULD BE EXTREMELY APPRECIATED as it is for a school project. 
basically i need to amass as many different descriptions as i can.

i need them pretty sharpish too as i have to hand in the project soon. 
sorry, but i have a bad habbit of leaving things like this until the last 
minute.
