well, for what it's worth, here's my live-performance set-up..

i use a waldorf microwave xt, a budget sampler, some fx and a hardware
sequencer..

most of the time i just program some loops, spread over the 8 tracks of the
sequencer to trigger the xt, and run the sampler through the xt's filters
also..    so i can use the xt's lfo's and arppegiators to control the sounds
& structures..

to blend the whole together i use a *very* small mixer, just enough to run
the fx through the aux's get it all into the p.a. ..

nothing special to it, i know..  :)
