  Hi,

-have to resort to metaphors, I don't know how else to express it.

I find that often times in life I want 'things'(objects , places , events)
and I have only a few instruments , writing paper , a pen etc. and alot of
thoughts , desires and so forth. I compose music . The events happen , I
meet the people etc. I recognize them in and around , underneath , on top
of the music I composed.

at this point it becomes easy to 'critique' my work. I can tell what I did
correctly . did wrong , could have improved , etc.

an actual 'event' or 'experience' of living according to one's ideals may
have many components (or compositions). Some of these may be 'activated' or
realized instantaneously or take a long time to develop.

There isn't just the emotion , state of bliss or clarity . There is the
ground one walks upon , how one proceeds out of one's ideals , confronting
practical or mundane matters etc.

For these reasons I think it necessary to listen to alot of someone's work
, completed and in progress in order to get an idea of how that person
actually functions , and really; how the 'world' as conceived intellectually
by humans works.

I used to be more scornful of terms like 'postmodernism'. I'm still not
entirely convinced and sometimes see it as a clever way of 'shuffling' , of
switching the price tags in the dark , of saying: "oh , these musty old
ideas have no value anymore" in order to cash in on them when the lights go
on. .
