[OT]Buffer Override

Hello all, I was listening to Mark Fell's ".h" album on
hobbyindustries and was struck by how much it sounded like
there was a destroyfx Bufferoverride in use. The thing is
that I believe ".h" was released well before the
appearance of the bufferoverride effect by Destroyfx. So
my question is, aside from the obvious MP3 Player/cd
skipping we have all experienced, where did the buffer
manipulation effect come from? Is there an old MAX/MSP
patch that can claim paternity to this effect? I am just
curious about it's origins.

Thanks Much,
Kyle
