What about David Toop's books, Ocean of Sound, Exotica
or, some might hate it, Kodwo Eshun's' More brilliant than the Sun'
the chapters about music in Deleuze & Guattari's 'A Thousand Plateaux' ("the
music of the future is insect music, the music of the past was bird music", I
loved that)
the chapters about music in Michel Serres' 'The Parasite' (out of print in
English, sh*t)
John Cage's 'Silence' (for discussion? ??)

But maybe reading through whole books and discussing them piecemeal might get
too time-consuming after a while...
