microsound book club

Great idea... but I was wondering if we can make it more economical and
practical by making it an essay club. Someone could post an essay online
(theirs or someone elses) we could all read that, and discuss it. That way
everyone could have the chance to have the material instead of us clicking
over to amazon or whatnot ordering it and waiting. If it works the club then
maybe we can move up to a more concentrated whole... like a book or
something. This could also we extended to music or architecture, or
poetry...
just my cents in the dollar.

Subject: [microsound] microsound book group?

I was wondering if there would be any interest in starting an online =
book
group in the future?

the way it would work would be:
- we vote on a book to read
- read a chapter or more per week
- have a weekly online discussion via the microsound server's chat =
function

a couple of ideas for possible books:

- 'Noise Water Meat: A History of Sound in the Arts' - Doug Kahn
- 'Noise' - Jacques Attali
     - 'Experimental Sound and Radio'
        by Allen S. Weiss
'Style and Idea' - Arnold Schoenberg

other suggestions?
