Hi.

Long time lurker, just now starting to post with moderation. Thanks for taking my phone call.

After reading your (Kim-Kim, not Kim-not-Kim) post, it made me wonder what the future of indie distribution will be. Will the indie artist be resigned to set up his/her own direct sales to mom and pop chains? Will eBay/paypal be the long term solution of choice? Will there be more mp3 labels than physical labels (at least for this genre)? Will the artist just give up and live in mushroom shaped cottages, recording their music in sheer obscurity and living on Count Chocula cereal?

Anyways, I'd be curious to hear what creative avenues artists on this list have been taking to try and cut out the middleman and have reasonable distribution with any sort of financial stability/moderate success.

I'd think it a better read that this afternoon's pissing contest.
