Re: [microsound] [Fwd: [AfroFuturism] Arundhati Roy: Confronting Empire] [OT]

I can't argue with you about the fact that this post was off-topic (and
was labled as such) but if you actually read the attached article and
still think that it's empty-headed rambling, then you are a class-a
moron. I love music and sound and spend a great deal of my time playing
around with them. But I am certainly not fool enough to think that this
self-indulgent distraction is of any significane in the grand scope. The
alarming rate at which this planet is being sucked dry, at which
power-brokers are manipulating society and law to their own benefit and
the stunningly transparent farce--with respect to Iraq--which is being
carried out on the world stage are grave matters which should be of
interest to ANY mailing list in any language in any part of the world.
It's not as if the OT post was about stamp collecting, fer chrissakes.

I urge you to read the article attached to the parent again and think
hard about what it says. If you still seek idle chit chat about
self-indlugent electronic meanderings, then I wish you all the best...
may you enjoy your listening as the world crumbles around you.

And actually, there is generally very little discussion about music on
this list...
