Hello All,

GRANULAR is a new association, based in Portugal,  for the development
and promotion of experimental arts - specifically sound and image.

Its goals are:=20

/ to build a consistent Portuguese database of sound and
visual pieces for free access as well as information and meaningful researc=
h
pertaining to the local artists' work insertion and its cataloguing;

/ to keep a systematic and up-to-date reference list on todays creation
through a monthly newsletter and non-periodic publications on different
media of related interest documents to the association activities as well a=
s
an help to the theorization, investigation and written research on the
different creative approaches;

/ to promote and help with artistic experimentation, namely on new
technologies and the internet medium, building educational projects as such
in collaboration with artists, schools, cultural centers, alternative art
spaces, institutions and others interested by the nature, practice and
history of experimental art;

/ to promote transdisciplinary collaborations and to help the awareness of =
a
new audience with fast and accessible exchange of information.

/ Looking for ways to achieve our objectives, GRANULAR will research and
develop international resources, beginning private and institutional
contacts and diversified collaborations, hoping to become - through our web
site - a continuous and privileged observatory as well as an experimental
arts resource center, in this way helping with the needed visibility for th=
e
nature of these projects, given its importance within contemporary creation=
