Re: [microsound] [OT] Philip Glass
I have to agree with Glen. I have seen Glass perform multiple
times... The first time was in Baltimore (where he had attended
Peabody Conservatory I believe, but I could be wrong) It was on
Valentines day in 1981, and it was proclaimed Philip Glass Day by the
Mayor... small hall, with his ensemble... powerful incredible, moving.
Then recently he did a tribute to Allen Ginsberg here in Boulder...
solo piano pieces... equally brilliant, although much less sonically
powerful, which I thought was appropriate for the event.
