Joe,
My sadness would pass if as you said, US would cross its borders and take 
care of only its own business rather than spending all of its efforts (not
only tax money but much more funding and human force and weapons and
intelligence and etc) messing up places "god knows where" only for its own
interests, in the expense of lives, peace, happiness which not only you
(a.k.a. the point of reference) deserve but as well as every single other
person in the world does - and hopefully not only for five years but
forever.
