ben I think the problem with what your talking about is not indicative to
laptop artists but rather to the maturity of the composures them selfs.
look at any young music form there are white sheep and there are black
sheep... some whant to make music that they are listening to and some just
want to make music with in a context... ie: the idea of working with in
and or out side the box... you can make music that sounds like a certain
artist or you can make music that coes from the heart... so I wouldnt
blame all this mediocerty as a problem indicative to laptop production and
more towards maturity of in terms of how well versed the musican is with
what they are tring to do...
but this is just my personal view of what I see/hear of my peers...
