yes I've used them.  They work great when your in places
where you can't touch the master volume and it's too loud
(which is quite often) but you want to hear without cutting
the hi-freq's too much.  They get a bit wierd when the
band stops and the ambient sound around you seems wierd.

I ended up losing one at some point and has since just
used foam earplugs.  Cause usually every sound guy is
deaf and they always crank the mids and highs anyway.
So it usually cuts thru and sounds fine.   Any shows
that I've been to that have good sound, usually the
sound levels are kept under control.

But they are a wonderful purchase.  If you love music
and sound as much as I do....imagine not being able
to enjoy those.  Would you pay $150 to have your hearing
back 15 years from now?

Hearing loss is gradual, so whatever you can do now,
will help you hear later.
