Well, I could suggest looking at the illustration on page 9 of Curtis
Roads' book, _Microsound_. Although he's more interested in Neanderthal
flutes, certainly politics and culture have a place on his time scale.
In that vein, there's also Olaf Stapledon's _Last and First Men_...
