Re: [microsound] See men shredded, then say you don't back war
Well, over 500,000 children have died in Iraq as a result of sanctions
and the destruction of infrastructure during the first Gulf War. I
guess that shows just how much the west cares. The US is going to spend
12 billion on the military operation. It spent 65 million on aid for
the Iraqis. I guess that shows how much they care. Meanwhile, a
humanitarian disaster is taking place in Africa right now with an AIDS
epidemic and Eritrea on the brink of famine, and all the west can talk
about is Saddam Hussein. that's the real obscenity.
Karzai goes to Washington asking for aid. he's offered 50 million but
then told that 35 million of it has to go for the building of a luxury
hotel in Kabul. There's caring for you. Remove oppressive
dictatorships and replace them with capitalized impoverishment and then
try to call it "progress" with a straight face.
Too much Chomsky? Try Said, Pilger, Fisk, Monbiot. God forbid anything
but CNN, Fox TV, or any of the networks for that matter.
