Re: [microsound] war

is there anything that those opposed to the war (on whatever basis) have
in common with those who support the war ? i am against military action
without UN backing.
however i do not fault US, British or Australian military for following
orders. The military is not (in my opinion) to be condemned wholesale
because of a administrative position.
i also must offer my observation that thus far (and it may change) allied
forces, remember there are American, British and Australian
troops..............have waged as
ethical a war as seems possible. The oxymoron is there to be attacked,
remember we all have opinions, and most likely they are all wrong, that
includes the one you are reading, and the one forming in your head. life is
perception, and each media outlet, however biased or unbiased will always
spin a story. i recently saw a montage of broadcast reports from al-jazeere
(sic) television reporting that US infrastructure was collapsing, that
americans were protesting in the streets, and that France, Germany, Russia,
and China would be providing military aid to the people of Iraq, it can be
argued all day long whether this is "real" or not.....but to someone,
somewhere that is what they see, and what we see is what we believe. i
encourage everyone to practice the very lost art of empathy, even if you
are not very good at it, try it....even if you dont want to see it from the
other guys perspective, try it anyway. the worst that happens is you lose a
few minutes of thinking about yourself, the best that happens is the
beginning of understanding. this is the best defense against arrogance,
pride, intolerance and the laundry list of human problems that existed
before and will exist after the war

IF weapons of mass destruction are in fact found in Iraq, would it change
anyones mind who is opposed to war ?

IF weapons are not found in Iraq would anyone supporting the war change
their minds ?

thank you for reading
