RE: [microsound] cd track hack question
I remember a friend had a cd (can't remember what it was) that had some
hidden, bonus music before the first track so you had to rewind back
from the first track to hear it.
(Then of course there's that aphex twin track with the imagery hidden in
the spectrum.)

Subject: [microsound] cd track hack question
a few years ago the lemonheads released a cd ("come on feel...") that
had a nifty trick i cannot figure out.. they were able to place several
audio samples, each just a few seconds long, in between the
actual tracks on the cd.
the only way to hear these was to
play from the end of one track straight through to the next,
the audio would then play while my cd player registered
a countdown prior to the next song. if you skipped
right to the beginning of the track the hidden section would
be skipped.
has anyone else come across this, or does anyone have a clue
how i might be able to accomplish it? i've seen similar breaks inbetween
tracks on other cd's, but have not come across anyone else who
has actually exploited it. i'm not even sure most burning software
will allow for the breaks.
it would be quite interesting to have a cd of music that's all
on (real) hidden tracks, playing as my cd player is counting
backwards!!
