well, there's jitter for max/msp.  with i'm pretty sure that you can use it 
as a video input, and then hook whatever object it is to yr music making 
patch.  i'm not sure.  i don't use jitter.  also, i know for sure that david 
behrman has done a piece/installation where sound is designated by movements 
recorded via a dv camera.  it even worked with his webcam.
