Hello All,
Although I'm not new to the list, this is my first posting (shame on me!)
As for a good VST (VSTi?) host for OS-X, I'm still looking for one as well.
I guess you mean a standalone host with MIDI input?
There is a VSTi host made with MAX/MSP called HostX which I'm using at
the moment. It does it's job. You can download the beta for free at
http://mmturner.home.mindspring.com/software.html
There's also a VSTi host by Defective records, but I think the price of
$35 is pretty steep. I will not test the demo, cause it transmits random
noises, which I think to be a really stupid thing to do for an audio related
software demo. Although random noises might have their own use. ;0)
