Re: [microsound] Re: Alternative performance *experiences*
I think I just had this last night w/ the laptop octet @ Mutek, aka "Narod
Niki:"
Richie Hawtin, Ricardo Villalobos, Akufen, Dandy Jack, Zip, Luciano,
Cabanne, and Dan Bell.
All playing live, trading off tracks, beatmatching on the fly. Until 4am.
Then the afterparty.
While no substances were involved last night for me, I nonetheless
experienced immersive synaesthesia, in part from the manic audience, the
hard-ass loops, and the soundsystem -- tailored by Julien Roy and Robert
Henke (aka Monolake), working the mixer, pushing decibels levels to the
point where we were yelling in the bathroom.
Best Mutek Sunday yet. Hands down.
