On that, there be may reason to despair or hope (depending on your take of
the below blurb).  Take a look at Jaron Lanier's research in vr and
avatars utilizing internet2.  The more technology advances the more I see
a 'Snowcrash' type future as opposed to a 'Matrix' type future.
