Re: OT: snowcrash (was cellular)



It's a book by Neal Stephenson (Cryptonomicon).  Half of it takes place in
the 'metaverse' which is basically a vr version of the internet.  Kind of
like william gibson's but less psychadelic.

There is so much in that book that is already happening, it's kind of
frightening. For instance, in Stephenson's future all of the suburbs in
the U.S have pretty much connected into this endless network of 'gated'
communities with robotic guards.

It's a decent read.  Cryptonomicon is a better novel though.
