retinascan update

Dear members of the microsound list,

[as usual sorry for criss-, cross-, spam- or over-posting and all that funk]

http://www.retinascan.de went through a heavy update the last weeks and
now can be called halfway complete. The redesign is accompanied by some
new releases, that may interest the microsound peer group:

<a href="http://www.retinascan.de/compactdiscs/fcd27.htm";>RE26-
directions in american noise 4CD box</a>

this fine collection contains works by winter carousel (Chicago,
http://www.insectdeli.com), jon.dus (New York,
http://www.endangeredkolectiv.net), omnid (New Orleans) and bill jarboe
(Seattle), and at least two of the mentioned should be well-known to all
of you. The sound ranges from raw high db stuff to minimal noise, and I
hope you all can imagine what that can be. However, difficult to talk
about, and so there are (for two) and will be (for the other two) free
song downloads available at the page.

<a href="http://www.retinascan.de/compactdiscs/fcd26.htm";>RE25 -
phoenelai - limmin'</a>

great new release by Houston-based phoenelai, who delivers a
non-stop-mix of static ambient that is just nice to listen to, but not
too flat to go by as coffeetable music. The future sound of earth. (in
my humble opinion).

and not really micro-stuff, but damn, I'm really proud of this release:

<a href="http://www.retinascan.de/compactdiscs/fcd311.htm";>unstern
bedroht - s/t</a>

the great debut ep by the German-based 3-piece Unstern Bedroht is a four
track monster of postrock-rock and really specially packaged for a 3"
release. Emotional rescue for several friends who heard it already.
Guess they will go big in a while and leave the projects, but hey, all
my love is with them.

Hope you have a pleasant stay at the new pages, feedback is very welcome.
You are also invited to drop some sounds you like at the sounds section.
The collection isn't that big for now, but I know the microsound family
is quite active and generates loads of sound, of which some may not be
useful for you, but serve lots of others. (What principally is the idea
behind the sounds section)

Thanks and see ya on the net.
