new york city: bars/lounges `?

to continue the "im travelling-recommend me something" thread,
id like to know if there're recommendations for new york city,
as im travelling there from 18th - 21st of august.
i'm looking for a gig in a bar/lounge between those days, im
bringing my records anyway as i continue my voyage to montreal
the later week where ill definately play here or there.
