haven't heard the big band one but...  have you read his ridiculous manif=

and i thought i was bad... maybe you could bring some of this nonsense up=

how this fits into his current creative approach.

electronic music is and should be about about possibilities - not self-im=
posed
limits. this sort  of overarching 'self-contract' (as he calls it) is mor=
e
debilitating than freeing, me thinks.

even though the guy is totally and utterly overrated, his performance at =
mutek two
years ago as radioboy was quite interesting - although contrary to what t=
he
audience perceived with his adbusting anti-corporate (which didn't stoppi=
ng from
hauling a shitload of gear made by massive corporations on stage) live lo=
oping
shtick, there was a lot of sequencing going on in the background. i dunno=
, i just
think he masquerades fairly mediocre commercial minimal dance music off a=
s
pseudo-intellectual art, although i suppose considering the microsound ge=
nre, it's
not uncommon:) it's actually quite a conservative when it comes to techno=
, which
basically nullifies the entire essence of the genre. nothing i've heard h=
as really
impressed me, and i sincerely gave it shot.

good luck with the interview though.
