[microsound] Re: Tetreault

Anyone care to recommend a good starting point for listening to the work of
Martin Tetreault?

depends which aspect of tétreault's work you are looking for!

if you're looking for the "quotation-heavy" tétreault (basically, his early
stuff), then, yes, _des pas et des mois_ or the _snipettes_ cassette are
quite on the mark.

the most accessible tétreault album however is _la nuit où j'ai dit non_
(audioview) which is actually very pretty.

otherwise, for the "current" improv-tétreault (vide what we heard at mutek,
for example) i would rather recommend the following:
- otomo yoshihide, martin tétreault - _studio-analogique-numérique_
(3miniCD, ambiances magnétiques)
- kevin drumm, martin tétreault - _particles & smears_ (erstwhile)
- martin tétreault & guests, _four focuses_ (amoeba)

i believe most of these are available at http://www.actuellecd.com/ (plug:
i work there) but i'm sure you can find them in your favourite record store
too!

have a nice day
