Re: [microsound] downhill battle

Some of the punks may remember the Dead Kennedy's album "In God We Trust, Inc." which came with one side of the tape blank with instructions to bootleg another of your favorite albums onto it. I like this because it encourages you to choose another artist to listen to either before or after this one. I certainly would flip the tape rather than put in something new, thereby mixing two bands in my head and listening experience and forming a connection between them.
Rob
PS, Zappa pulled a similar stunt as well...

And let me say it again, artists needto be able to protect themselves instead of having a government agency helping us out in ways we can't control and don't approve...

when I was in Bologna last week someone showed me a new CD put out by a
member of Radian which is titled '2 CD'...it came in a 2 CD jewel case and
contained one 'real' CD, one blank CDR and two copies of cover art...I
thought this was a very clever way to encourage people to copy music in
order to share it...
