In this sense, (which I agree) I don't think Art would
be the first conversation of choice with an alien
intelligence, but rather ( I think as 'Contact'put
it), Mathematics. It would (hopefully) be pure and as
scientific as possible. Like an experiment, just fact
finding.
The binary system seems as universal as anything or
any language, perhaps it would start there?
