Re: [microsound] underground music from New Zealand?
I'm a fan of both. If you can't get enough of Peter Wright, there's a lot to
not get enough of. His work with David Khan and Justine Sharp as DiS is
probably my favourite, with two releases on the krkrkrk label he founded,
but which Khan now runs. Also, before Peter left New Zealand he recorded
material with Khan (and drummer, Rustile Covini) as Beautiful Losers, which
has a pretty fab droney, post-rock sound; this is only in demo form at the
moment, though i've been begging for a full release of it. It's funny, i
have a hard time thinking of Peter Wright as a "computer-music guy", because
it's only with the relatively recent Polio project that he's gone into
computer processing. The Gemini release from Polio is my fave of this new
approach.
