RE: [microsound] Oulipo

a (mostly? for some reason i thought Borges, Cortazar, and Calvino had some
involvement but maybe i'm just lumping them in associatively ) French
literary group

Yes, Calvino was involved with Oulipo, but not Cortazar or Borges as far as I know, despite certain affinities. While most of the well-known members have been French (Perec, Queneau, Roubaud), the American Harry Mathews is also a member. Since much of Oulipo's experimentation plays with language, Mathews might be a good starting point, although I still find it astounding that someone managed to translate Perec's A Void (which doesn't use the letter 'E' once) and his Exeter Texts (which doesn't use any other vowel).
best,
Ian
