Re: [microsound] not so very ot: voice & microsound

Jaap Blonk is a really good voice master! He was in my part of Sweden
(north) some weeks before christmas and made some incredible
voices/readings/singings - originally he started as saxophone player
You can find some Jaap Blonk out at http://www.ubu.com/sound/blonk.html
Other users of voice:
Alvin Lucier - "I am sitting in a room" http://www.ubu.com/sound/lucier.html
An early Meredith Monk piece at http://www.ubu.com/sound/monk.html
I think some interesting part can be found here too
http://www.ubu.com/sound/artist_tellus.html
Brion Gysin (worked alot with WSB with cut-ups)

Audiopoems by Henri Chopin http://www.ubu.com/sound/chopin.html

Well as you see - I really "promote" the UBU site. There is lot's of radio
and sound art from the 60ies and 70ies there that partly have been more or
less forgotten. I am a great friend of the spoken word and I am interested
in hearing about new uses of vocals in combination with electronics. Any
suggestions on people doing the combined vocal/electronic thing? - - and I
don't mean singing on top of electronics like Madonna or Björk merely voice
as an integral part of the sounds.
