there's a huge difference in both quality and type of sound...i often record
the ambient sound in our backyard and compare the sounds from different
weather/atmospheric conditions: the snow absorbs alot of high frequencies,
and you get alot of tires crunching through snow/people shoveling type
sounds, etc. whereas summer sounds have noticeably different frequency
characteristics, as well as the hum of air-conditioners in the background,
etc.
there's one constant though, this guy...i call him 'coughing guy' that's
omnipresent. i think he lives in a winnebago in the laneway.
never seen him, but i've got about 5 years worth of his coughing and
hacking.
