This is not even a Mac hurdle: no portable consumer (or prosumer, whatever)
Minidisc recorder can digitally upload to a computer.

Professional MD decks ($$$) can do that however. So you could grab your
minidisc and pop it into the deck to transfer to your computer.

But, besides the cost obstacle, there's still the issue of MD compression,
the absence of a mic preamp, etc.


I can't believe no company has developed a product to seize the market for
portable, rather-high audio quality recording devices...

I (and many other people, I would think) am looking for what this person

Maybe someone will develop a high-quality recording add-on for the iPod...
