[microsound] mix cd's

not really...follow the money: who profits from a DJ spinning a record in a
club? the artists? not typically...it's mostly the 'famous' DJ's who are
making big money spinning other people music and the club promoter who
charges $20 - 50 a head for entry into their club...very, very few clubs pay
license fees to publishing companies or rights organizations...it may be
different now but this was certainly the case in the early 90's...

Silent produced a mix cd by a local ambient dj so we could help promote a
new emerging genre and showcase talent that was doing pioneering
work...no-one was getting rich from selling a limited number (< 500) mix
cd's...and most of the small indie labels were doing this to promote a
certain type of music...
