RE: [microsound] re: madrid ?

Hi Yannick,
and sorry also if my english gets confusing at times (is not my first language)
I think we know that the oportunity to work on a piece for Madrid is going to generate many different opinions and angles.
I am more interested in the oportunity of having a personal and internal reflection about the event, the future, and my undestanding of violence. I worked on a piece in the last two days, and now while I listen to the diferent opinions mi piece is starting to change...and I am probably changing also. Change start from the inside. For instance, certain opinions and positions produce anger or intenal violence inside me, and I try to understand how this sensations get to produce external agression in other people......extreme situations of course, like extreme poverty or reciving constant physical violence against yourselve, your family, country, etc, is of course harder to understand (even thought I grew up in a country were 'terrorist' activities was a daily ocurrence, and luckily that is not the case anymore).
So, I am not exactly sure the issue is the audience, or the social "effectiveness" of a proyect, or having a political position. Each one of us will (or not) reflect and proyect a sonic personal understanding. Maybe, in a sense, we are our own target audience.
Saludos,

El Lazo Invisible.

hi microsound list,

i have a small problem with that madrid-related project...
so i would like to share my doubts.

***please consider this post as a very small contribution to the discussion, and not as a pose, an agressive provocation, some personal attacks or something like that...***

as i consider myself against violence, i am wondering if i want to participate.
i believe that most of the audience of the microsound list project is the list participants (and that is absolutly not a problem for me). so what kind of effect will this memorial project could have about "no more bomb" hopes ?
i don't think that terrorists / military maniacs read our posts and listen to our music...
i don't believe in peace related hymn/anthem but much more on discussion/construction of peace.

if we just produce our usual soundwork, are we just showing our compassion with victims and their family (like we have shown our interest into stockhausen, lisa glitches and tarkovski music) ? but who's looking at our compassion except ourselves ?
maybe it is not enough just to express emotions (tv is stronger than microsounds).
just a small example about what i mean : during the start of gulf war, there was huge number of people against it. but spanish government didn't listen to them, aznar just made it...
if a government don't care about some many individuals, who cares about sound artists ???

shouldn't we provoque some reflexion about the needs of violence (rudy, could you develop your ideas about war ? i am not sure to clearly understand them) or maybe how could we handle non-violence at the different scales (personnaly, i prefer this one...).

one humble suggestion, could we try to speak about our practices, which are supposed to show some other ways of thinking, participating and evolving.
could these creation behaviours, artistic collaborations, and social interrelations be a kind of model for citizen participation ? how ?

and finally could we produces projects that are related to these topics ?

friendly,

yannick.

ps : i am not english fluent writing, so i hope there won't have some non-sense emerging...
