    Minimalism.

'New minimalism,' if it passes in circles that expand via concentrics as a
word, then would mean somewhat of the following: the absolution of forward
movement in favour of the moment.

There is no telos in the moment. I would think that minimalism as a
"fashion" (whatever this is, if it can be discerned from other things that
are apparently "not fashions") operates as such only insofar as the
narrative of Western music encounters its edges, as it did with Reilly,
Reich, Glass, in the transportation of Indian, Javanese, Japanese..
"fashions."

With global laptop networks, the fashion of listening to the other is
becoming back in--one would hope: if anything is expected in the moment,
it's the tension of that moment's movement.
