I did run it on a 300MHz iMac with Debian PPC. But that was a while ago...

I doubt that this should be a problem. Audio files are audio files so no problem there. Other than that everything is text (XML).

Depends what you expect. If you're new to linux you should consider
that it will take some time before you get used to the environment.
Your milege will vary.
And you will probably not find many apps that behave in a way you are
used to so you may have to accept a little modification to your work
habits. For me it worked out ok, I'm glad in fact that I had to take
a step back and get some perspective on what and how I was doing.
If you're in the middle of productions don't switch. Wait until you
have some time to fool around.
