Thanks for the informative post.  I am definitely looking to use my Gentoo/Laptop
as a sound platform.  As it is clear that you have a very good grasp on the state of 
linux and sound could you share some of your ideas about linux vs. Cubase and Logic,
or vs. Mac and Windows setups, and the future of linux sound?  How does Ardour stack
up at this point?
