Re: [microsound] recent microsound projects

01.
the term "south america"
it´s not an equivalent
to the term "latin america"

if south america is a geographical notion,
latin america refrers more to a common culture
(or some common cultural elements)
shared by millions of people living
in america and speaking spanish

02.
this common elements might be
expressed in sound art

so i think that´s the most
interesting part of the project,
it´s a way of researching
the links between cultural background
and abstract sound design

cheers,

f.

thing i can see is pure exoticism; wow, these people live in south america
and make music just like we do, isn't that weird? i think it's patronizing
too. i'm sure our south american friends have contributed to the other
microsound projects, why single them out suddenly because of their location
of birth. what can say less about an individual than things they have no say
in. why not have a project that features works by people with size 9 feet or
people who are 5'10 (not that i would make a track for either though i would
be allowed to).

south america? what's to prevent anyone from uploading one under an assumed
name.
