[microsound] Infrasound loudspeaker
Hi
I'm doing a sound-istallation with infra-sound and hoped I could do with 4
old (partly working) standard hi-fi subwoofers together with my 4x12"
Marshall bass cabinet. The woofers are a bit better than expected, but I
did'nt expect much, whereas the bass cabinet performs really lousy
(distorting at very low volume).
Therefore I decided to buy a better one and in my search I found this
infrasound loudspeaker that plays 17hz at up to 100dB!
http://www.npl.co.uk/acoustics/consultancy/airborne/infrasound.html
Could I build a similar one from an old 12" driver and some drain pipe in
the right length? (at least I am going to try it, since its very cheap)
Or are there alternative ways of building such a thing.
Or are there subwoofers/speakers that you can buy for around $200 that could
play 12-30hz - maybe not at 100dB, but enough to get a physical expirience..
Thanks in advance
Sune TB
