Re: [microsound] Re: on working methods for live performance

From: Aaron Ximm <ghede@xxxxxxxx>

I think part of the reason this debate comes up again and again is that
there is still no historical venue for laptop music (etc) itself beyond
those that, well, have a dance floor, a stage, or a DJ booth.

well , am sure that the large cultural institutions are working on an inclusive
legitimate entry of the laptop as staple appendage .

Create a new space, and you liberate yourself to imply a new relationship
between artist, audience, space, and sound.

non the less , the point made is well taken , as expectations of performance
and specificly those dealing with sound rather than song change - the relationship
of interaction is able to be a space for people to engage by listening -
and talk later about their drama and favorite movie of the week .
