Rescatamos algunos de los mejores momentos de nuestra reciente visita a New 
York con la conmemoracion del festival New Music, New York celebrado hace 
ahora 25 años y que marcó un acontecimiento para la nueva música 
contemporanea con autores tan importantes como Laurie Anderson, Pauline 
Oliveros, Philip Glass, Steve Reich o quien va a sonar, Gordon Mumma, uno de 
los primeros compositores en diseñar circuitos electricos para sus propias 
composiciones o actuaciones en directo, artistas todos ellos muy cercanos a 
The Kitchen, una galeria de arte neoyorquina que se mantiene desde su 
fundacion en 1971 a la cabeza de la vanguardia en varias disciplinas 
artisticas

The Kitchen se encuentra actualmente inmersa en un proceso de 
remasterización del amplisimo material grabado en los ultimos 30 años, lo 
que va a sonar es uno de los cortes que forma parte del doble cd de una 
serie de grabaciones ineditas de artistas tan importantes como Pauline 
Oliveros, Charlemagne Palestine, Michael Nyman o Phil Niblock, el que va a 
sonar, importante artista multidiscplinar americano, compositor y 
organizador de conciertos de música experimental de larga trayectoria

a Frank Hautzinger, Patrick Pulsinger, Werner Daffeldecker y Hans-Joachim 
Roedelius (Cluster, Harmonia) , es decir , la crema de la experimentacion 
austriaca que se reunió con motivo de la muestra Moving Patterns, que llevó 
a Nueva York algunos de los proyectos más interesantes nacidos en Austria y 
relacionados con el arte electrónico

segundo trabajo para el sello canadiense Substractif, que ha abierto sus 
horizontes tras unos primeros años dedicados principalmente a la escena 
electronica canadiense, publicando los debuts de Tim Hecker, Mitchell 
Akiyama o Polmo Polpo

De Portland, Oregon, lugar de origen de Daniel Menche nos trasladamos a 
Chicago para atender el ultimo trabajo del guitarrista y compositor 
electrónico Kevin Drumm, uno de los grandes nombres del noise actual mas 
maniaco

Novedad del sello britanico Skam, Mr.76ix, misterioso artista que oscila 
entre la Idm y el noise que se dio a conocer en la pasada edicion del 
festival All Tomorrows Parties en el sur de Inglaterra. Esta es la primera 
de las compilaciones de material de Mr.76ix que pretende lanzar Skam en los 
proximos meses

Proyecto bandera de Dominick Fernow de Hospital Productions, una pequeña 
compañia especializada en musica experimental y ruidista. Proximamente 
sonarán también los ultimos trabajos publicados recientemente por este 
artista en los sellos Load y Ground Fault

Primer trabajo del noruego Helge Sten en los ultimos ocho años si no 
contamos su split de remezclas con Biosphere. Es miembro fundador de 
Supersilent aunque lo que escuchamos es su proyecto en solitario Deathprod 
con este Morals and Dogma, que recientemente ha editado el irregular sello 
Rune Grammofon

visit to New York, with the commemoration of the festival New Music New 
York, held 25 years ago marking an event for the new contemporary music from 
authors such as Laurie Anderson, Philip Glass, Pauline Oliveros, Steve 
Reich, Meredith Monk... and Gordon Mumma, one of the first composers 
designing electric circuitry for his own pieces and live performances. 
Artists all of them close to The Kitchen, an art gallery in NYC that keeps 
itself in the vanguard in a number of artistic fields from its foundation in 
1971

The Kitchen is actually inmerse in a process of remastering the vast 
material recorded along the last 30 years. This is one of the tracks 
included in the first cd of New Sound New York 1979, the first volume in a 
series of undiscovered recordings from some of the masters in the genre. On 
the first cd, between others, pieces from Pauline Oliveros, Philip Glass, 
Meredith Monk, Michael Nyman or Gordon Mumma. The second cd includes this 
track by Phil Niblock, multidisciplinar North-American artist in his 
seventies, but also works from Tony Conrad, Steve reich, Charlemagne 
Palestine...

an exclusive recording documenting a live performance on April 28th in New 
York, sharing line-up with Franz Hautzinger, Patrick Pulsinger, Werner 
Daffeldecker and Hans-Joachim Roedelius (Cluster, Harmonia) as a part of the 
Moving Patterns festival, that took New York some of the most interesting 
projects born in Austria and related with electronic arts
