steinpilz is the name of a particular mushroom...the "porcini" Boletus
edulis

and there are actually two names for mushrooms in german:

Pilze and "Schwaemme" (Germany)/"Schwammerl" austria

Pilze goes for larger ones, Schwammerl for smaller ones... (not sure how
exactly this is in germany, and whether there are special terms in swiss
german...)
