[microsound] Odessa Steps



I will be performing an original score for the film Potemkin (d: Sergei Eisenstein 1925) and i am looking to incorporate contemporary and archival field recordings made in Russia (especially Odessa) and Latvia (Eisenstein's homeland).

are there any sounders residing in those areas that might be able to assist me? if so, please contact me offlist.

A cinematic classic considered by many to be among the most influential films of all time. Eisenstein's powerful use of imagery is clearly demonstrated in the famous "Odessa steps" sequence. Based on historical events. Unbearable conditions on a Russian ship incite revolutionary fervor among sailors and citizens in the harbor town of Odessa. Live score performed by sound artist and composer Edward Bobb. Presented with the Miami International Film Festival.
