hey.. i noticed your gmail address.
i was thinking of ways to use gmail for rapid media filesharing.. going
to try a
few tests tonight.. but the idea is to have emails with mp3/ogg
attachments in
the gmail box, essentially creating a storage repository, and simply
forward
them to other gmail users (hopefully near instant transfer). google has
some
nice bandwidth, so the results might be pretty cool.
i was going to try this with some fairly large audio files, using gmail
for free
colaboration and filestorage between locations.
i don't think google would appreciate me writing a script where a user
can visit
a webpage, choose a piece of media, enter a gmail address, and have it
automatically sent from a script that simulates a login and forward, but
oh well..
the cool thing is that you have a free 1gb portable web based media
collection.
if the attachment transfer between gmail users is fast, this may prove
to be a
nice method for small group(gmail list) file distribution.
anyone played around much with large attachments?
google keeps giving me invites so ive got ~6 to spare.
